Hello. I have a question. You always say in your lectures that it's "our homework" to figure out how the planes and the perspective works for each part of the head. I just wondered how am i supposed to find that out? Is there any books? A videocourse etc?

drew a few beans and would like to get critique as im sure i've done a lot of misstakes. Your feedback is very much appreciated.

Hello, I'd first like to say I appreciate you posting the reference (especially labeling them too) so it's easy to critique. Now, I have a couple of things. 1. Proportions. Your ovals are a little to long. I'd recommend making them more circular. Also try to keep the relative sizes close to one another, unless foreshortened. 2. Overlap. Most of your connecting lines are just from one oval to the other, with very soft intersections. But if we look at Stan's examples, some pinches actually make angles greater than 90 degrees! And while you have many approaching 90 degrees, I think going a little over will give more exaggeration to the bean. 3. Wrinkles. I see you're adding folding skin to show a tilt, but I think increasing the angle (my second point) would do that better. Instead, I use wrinkles as a cross contour, and I think that's what makes them look natural. I've attached the Stan reference I'm talking about (from the original bean lesson), and two examples I did to show what I'm talking about (numbers are the photo numbers, not your drawing numbers). Happy drawing. - Dwight

I've drawn 6 beans and would like some critique as to what might be wrong or what i can do better. I dont know how to organize pictures but i hope you will be able to see which bean corresponds to which picture.
