Anatomy Critiques – The Deltoids

One thing I’ve noticed the longer I’ve been teaching anatomy, is how some of you are sacrificing the fluidity of your drawings so you can get the technical parts of the muscle right. Learning anatomy is tough and one of the traps some artists fall into is focusing too much on form and not enough on gesture. This will make your drawings stiff. In this critique video I’ll show you the importance of gesture and how to keep your anatomy studies dynamic.

If you haven’t seen my lesson on gesture or it’s been a while, go check it out. If you need a refresher on drawing the deltoids, you can find that lesson here.
