Razcore's Doodlepad
4yr
Răzvan C. Rădulescu (razcore-rad)
Hello students and gurus :)
I think over the years, my number one problem was an inconsistent timetable. Soooo to keep it short, I'm trying to draw even a tiny little bit every day. To that end, I decided to open this doodlepad in hopes that it keeps me going.
Some of these are from imagination, some from references, timed or not.
For the references, I made an app a short while ago. If you know line-of-action/quickposes, it's similar to those, but it's a desktop app and uses Pexel's photograph database instead. I have a short presentation of it here https://www.proko.com/community/topics/pexelsqd-a-quick-draw-picture-slideshow-app.
You can grab the app from https://github.com/razcore-art/godot-pexelsqd. Hope it helps! If you do get it you'll need to register for an account with Pexels and grab yourself an API-KEY.
So here we are, wish me luck! :)
Was doing so many r/SketchDaily exercises, I had to go back a bit to painting experiments c:
r/SketchDaily/08.07.2021/pom-poms AKA brain-dead sketch c:
I had no good idea so I just tried some compositional contrast... for better or worse :)

Speaking of getting back into it c:
I want to make it abundantly clear that this is NOT my original design, it's fan art of @snatti89's (Instagram) Toki. I'm a huge fan of Atey Ghailan and when I saw the "Cooling Off" prompt I immediately thought of Toki.
This is a sketch dump with the latest things (that you can find in other places as well, like Arstation, Instagram, Mastodon, Youtube.... all the things :p).
So I completely forgot about this place, too many social media to remember :)
We changed our tune a bit in the #daily-exercises Discord channel causes people were complaining that the pictures were too diverse and we didn't have a plan - one day a hand, the other a waterfall, etc.
That gave me an idea, that I'll announce when I'm a bit more confident with it c:
Meanwhile, I switched mainly to r/SketchDaily for my daily dose of prompts and ideas.
In order:

Moar at the Instagram/Mastodon/YouTube posts & vids :)
It's gone quiet in here! If you need a prompt at all, I've just started doing Figuary (yeah bit late :p), something to make sure you get 15 mins daily practice anyway...

We finally got an easy one today for #daily-exercises! Still got the proportions wrong, kinda' but that's fine :)

Yesterday I capped it off with two more experiments in painting style - based on @titoviktor. The first one is me messing around and the second is based on a ref. https://www.pexels.com/photo/happy-black-father-having-fun-with-daughter-5996870/
Kids are soooo hard to get right :)
And today we had a nice chromatic arrangement of buildings for #daily-exercises. Got a bit carried away and spent 1h so no 30m real-time sketch video :c

Trying out different methods to add paint on top of line art… inspired by @titovviktor’s workflow.
Did I get it?!?! Maybe a tiny little bit? :))

I kinda like some of your heads ended up very abstractly... Weird interesting look to them :D
Started the day off with some quick sketches and move to a quick painting. Ref. photo by Jacob Colvin from Pexels: https://www.pexels.com/photo/person-on-watercraft-near-waterfall-1761282/

Finishing up the day with a few sketches - the comfort zone :)

Today we had a very hard #study for our #daily-exercises. I'm so bad with chaotic landscapes...
