plaster cast of cadaver study - please help

I would really appreciate some help or advice on this one.
I can tell that something is clearly not working, but I really can't tell if it's my values / modelling , if it's construction, pencil handling or something else. I am a bit stumped, honestly.

Hi Oliver, I have just given it a quick run over in photoshop, I can't see your reference so only going off your drawing but maybe you are looking to much - seeing to much detail in the shadow areas squint your eyes and make sure you compare the values within the different areas, keep asking yourself how one area compares to another area - is it lighter darker or the same. Hope this helps some!
