Painting Red Satin in Oils?

Having a bit of a struggle with highlights, they appear pink in the red fabric but when painted as such look flat and dull, or disjointed - where white looks too bright
Anyone got tips for this?
Here, check out this painting by Hannah Sutton. She spoke about the specifics of painting red satin on her intsagram while working on it. As far as I remember, she mentioned the key beiing scumbling of white paint and controlling both your saturation and values so as to conserve the brightest and most saturated reds for the spots where they're most necessary.
