Old car, fixed the wrong way
3yr
Alessandro Dalponte
In this one I used Koh-I-Noor color pencils and Staedtler pigment liners. All feedback on what I can/need to improve and suggestions are welcome! The colors on the photograph I took are a bit washed up, that's the best I could get with my phone camera.
I like the style and the use of wood elements overall. The rendering is on point, the eclecticism of the elements gives it a story, for lack of a better word, and the concept comes through somewhat clearly.
Is this intended to be a house or a car? Can you drive it, and if so, are you supposed to? A few simple elements, like overgrown plants or parking lot lines, could clarify this. I'm not sure if this was intentional design, or just the way you took the photo, but the whole car seems to be leaning awkwardly. Otherwise, the draftmanship is pretty impeccable.
All in all, great work!
edit: disregard the storytelling portion of my critique i just read the title

Feedback, with that high key of a light source and direction, the cast shadow under the car would be darker compared to the darkest darks. Would I get into that car if that was my Uber ride? yes, yes I would. Keep going, want to see more crazy cars.

Beautiful design; the kind of whimsical feeling it has with the different panels and the chimney makes it look like it came out of an old children's book.
Have you seen the illustrations by swedish artist and author Sven Nordqvist? If not, you might find his work interesting :)
That's awesome! You have a really good awareness of perspective and that's a really cool design. Shape design for the fenders could be a little more defined and well realized. Good stuff
