Metaphor As Composition

Did anyone listen to the Draftsmen episode where Marshall introduces the book Picture This by Molly Bang? He talks about metaphor as composition... a gown is a waterfall, the stage design is like garbage, etc. I found it very inspiring. I'll attach an image that I made for a Proko challenge, where I was using metaphor prior to hearing it described that way. In the image I was going for a pleasant, mid century, Disney feeling. Everything harmonious, agreeable shapes and movements, easy, flowing. Feel free to add images in the comments where you tried to carry a consistent visual, emotional metaphor through a piece of work.

I think this is one of my favorite concepts in composition because it gives you a lot of freedom to experiment with a certain mood. Here's on I did a bit more recently where I did have a specific metaphor in mind...it isn't exactly subtle so I'll give bonus points if you can guess what it was haha

Wow that's so well done, the statuary in perspective! It appears to be in an upside down cathedral? Can you tell me more about the image? Intriguing

Thank you! The sky was at first an accident. I had blue, but I swung the hue slider around to see what else was possible, and I just really liked the yellow. I think mainly for the value contrast it offered. Have you heard of the metaphor-composition connection before? Have you tried it?
