Practicing line economy while drawing from imagination.

I finally drew a figure from my imagination that has weight to it and looks like it’s standing in 3D space! This is a milestone for me 🥲 It’s not perfect (why is his hand on his booty cheek) but this drawing has proven to me that I’ve internalized my studies more than I give myself credit for. I’m always jumping around, studying one topic for a while then moving onto another before mastering it. I always assumed this was a weakness (and perhaps it is) but it’s my crazy little process that keeps my studies interesting and keeps me pushing forward.  Actually, I think bouncing around, within reason, resembles the format of art school. Learning the basics of multiple topics then circling back to build on that knowledge year after year. At the very least, I’m reminded of how important it is to put some faith in my gut feelings and not let insecurities get the best of me whenever I think I’m the only one walking this path.
