Hello guys. Im Tord, a 30 year old carpenter from Norway. Just by some strange impuls i started to draw a couple of months ago and now im hooked. Im a bit late to the party, i guess. As a beginner it's so fun to see some progress and learn new stuff. Here are a couple of drawings i have done recently. Please keep in mind that im a beginner. There is so much talent on this site!😊

Hi Tord :) Great to meet you! It's never to late to start drawing and I can tell you're already doing great. If I can offer one small piece of advice I have found very helpful - as a beginner you are making the mistake of paying heaps of attention to detail, basically drawing *everything*, however you will find you make better art in less time if you think BIG and then work your way down to small. So squint, look at the reference, block in the shapes, and only start to add detail as you get to the end of your piece.
If you haven't seen it already check out Marco Bucci's "10 Minutes to Better Painting" on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nap7dwHjD9Y&list=PLLmXZMqb_9sbNLM83NrM005vRQHw1yTKn - because while it is geared more towards painting it will give you a good solid understanding of a lot of the basics in a way that is fun and engaging to watch.
As a carpenter you already have an advantage in that you will be used to seeing things and thinking in terms of form, joins, perspective etc, I think you will find that's a big help.
