I took a break and caught the stream a bit late but this was fun. sorry for the wide ruled - any recommendations on paper for a first timer?

NICE. I'd recommend a 90ish lb sketchbook/paper. It can take a large variety of mediums, but still give you a nice, polished look if you keep your pencils sharp.
