And here it is, definitely the most challenging week yet. The objects' texture + the lightning made "seeing" a bit difficult, but seeing in layers was this week's thing. There's lot to improve but I'm happy with what I got

A fluffy maned owl watching over an egg + a cloudy scenery to the side, I like how the the egg and the nest turnet out ngl

This was fun and relaxing at the same time. I saw the small dog next to the monkey first, then the group gradually appeared.

I have a lot of trouble with shadows it seems and a lot on the blending side. I'm not really a big fan of blending tools, I've always loved the painterly look, so I'll learn to blend using just the brush if I can, but blurry transitions I can't quite figure out yet. Another thing, I've always painted these things just from solid blocks of colour, but I end up having proportion issues, it's probably in best practice to actually sketch the objects first, that's a bad habit that I never grew out of. (I'll be doing a few of the others, like Dobby and Weird Shapes, but I'll sketch them myself.)

The line guide, layers and the blender sure saved up a lot of time. These are 1 hour as well Trying to understand why the color/shadows are the way they are as I go, the 2nd image sure was a challenge. In the 3rd image, why is there a grayish shadow below the shapes? Something about the light bouncing? Can't figure it out. Anyway I'll do a couple more and then dobby is next.

The metal thingy

Here's Dobby. "Abandoned" it at around two hours, otherwise, I would've gone forever hah. Quite the challenge honestly, so many wrinkles. Comparing it with the ref, I didn't get the darkest dark and the face isn't as polished as the rest, was already out of time, but still happy with what I got. 1 Hour, 2 Hours, 2 Hours + blending respectively
@nelsonsmg
1(? hour each. Didn't have much trouble with the first 3 since they were just 1 object (tho they still need some work) but with the last 2 there were parts where I didn't have enough time to do, like the shadows. I think I spent too much time getting the right colors for the last one and the background gradient also took time. Comparing and taking notes is kinda fun

Nicely done! One trick that might help is zooming way back and looking to see if your values and colors are corret. Look at the darkest darks and the brightest brights. You're doing great and are so very close on matching these
