I made two attempts, one before and one after the demo. The biggest difference is that with the second attempt, I started with the “envelope” and fit my CSI inside. I think it made a difference. The page with two images is the second attempt.

My first attempt at drawing pear 2! It was difficult to get the edges done sharply, and trying to get the right pressure for the right value took some experimentation. I don't like how the dark halftone and the light shade are too far from each other. I'll try it another time and see what happens.
