Hey guy! Here's my assignment. I definitely found it a bit difficult to not focus on proportions with this one and be a bit more yielding to changing shapes. Eitherway this was pretty fun! Hope to do more soon.

Hey all! Worked very hard on this but still got some major proportions wrong. No matter! I'm here to get better anyway. I think I struggled a lot with angles tbh

Hey all! Here's my assignment. I got a bunch of references off of Pexels. Some of the drawings do interact with each other because I didn't have space so sorry for that in advance. This was a lot of fun! Although recently I've been finding that my hands start straining, especially my pinky when I'm drawing, so if you have any advice for that or any general critique that would be great . Thank you!

Hey guys! I did another one. This one is Starfire, a study after Gabriel Picolo. Here the proportions are a bit off but I did my best! I did mess up my line weight a bit because I got impatient and didn't sharpen my pencil. I felt the same issue this time where I couldn't keep loose and I wanted to stay accurate so I ended up squeezing my fingers and using my hand/wrist to draw. When trying to stay loose though put too much pressure on the pencil and drew some very dark lines where I didn't want to. So I'd love any help I could get to avoid that! I analysed this one as well so I'd love to hear what you guys think of my drawing as well as my analysis.
This was the one I did previously. A study after Glen Keane. I think this one has mostly to do with light and shadow when it comes to line weight. It seems to me that he reserved a lot of the thicker and darker lines for big curves in the body, and darker lines where there is no light and lighter lines where there is glow. I did an analysis of it before trying it out myself so I've attached that here too.
One thing I did realize while doing this project and the previous rhino line weight project was that I tended to squeeze my fingers together and use my wrist more than my whole arm which is something I didn't have too much of a problem with previously. I think it might be because I'm focused on being too accurate or I'm afraid of accidentally putting a dark line at the wrong point. I can't figure out how to stay loose in these exercises. Do you guys know how I could avoid this? Do let me know what you guys think of my drawing as well as my analysis. I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

Hey all! Here's the rest of my Sketching from Observation assignment! I did the penguin and VR girl (the ones of the right) and the hand again after the demo. And after watching the critique video I drew the wolf, the foot, piglet and Winnie the Pooh. So fun! I still think yIm having a bit of difficulty in keeping loose and for some reason it's easier for me to do that with cartoon characters than more realistic subjects. I'm not sure why. Either way, any critique you guys may have would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
