John Buscema did Thor, Conan The Barbarian and Savage Sword at the same time. Not finished pencils I'm sure. Is he an acception?
How often do you use reference, if you use reference, and what do you use reference for?
He's mentioned he doesn't use reference as much.
One of the uses he mentioned was by tracing the face of specific people when creating likenesses. He says creating likenesses is not in his skillset.
He has also mentioned he prefers to learn the forms of a subject to help him create them from memory or invent them in a scene.
Was waiting on YouTube for this to come on. It never did. Luckily I clicked on the link to take me here.
I had the opposite training in that I was taught to draw quickly, 20min. to 4 hour poses (although we would also have week long poses but the class would last for 4 hours of work a day). I have trouble slowing down and spending a good long time on a drawing.
