Shading Critique: Hello from OZ. I have just joined my first class, Steven Zapata’s Secrets of Shading and I’m very excited to get drawing. I hope to post regularly and very much welcome any and all critiques. One of the tutorials that brought me here is the Proko realistic shading tricks video on YouTube which features the Egg drawing exercise. I have always struggled with shading, so I had to try it. Hello, This is my first post, critiques welcome :) I’m exploring the Proko course samplers before I sign up for specific courses. The Shading course – Fundamentals of Realism, Light and Shadow was a great introduction to understanding values and shading. I used the value mapping exercise to replicate a complex composition, as I don’t have a good handle on replicating light and shadow let alone in this context. This was fun to try, it definitely helped to make this process less overwhelming, and it got me thinking about composition differently.
