I can empathize with you a bit. I also started dabbling into drawing and animation a bit later that most (26 years old) and didn't take the time to properly learn the fundamentals. As the years went by, the knowledge gaps became much more obvious since they significantly stunted the growth I was hoping for. Now, I'm back to basics, going at it "right" this time. Luckily, for me at least, Proko's drawing basics course makes learning these concepts really fun. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and happy drawing with your kids!
