You've done a good job with your shapes, but I think you need to seperate your values more. They're all quite close together, and there is a lot of movement within each value, leading to overlap between values. I only know which is which because of the borders you've drawn. For example I think you should be able to see that on the lower right, your halftone and light values are reversed. There are similar problems all over. Your shadows have the same problem. You've used a darker brush, which does help to distinguish them from the light family, but the line density is inconsistent and that means the value shifts constantly. Do dark lines widely spaced have a darker value than light lines close together? I'm not sure, but to me your values all read as being basically the same except for the highlights and darkest darks. As I said though, I do think your pear and shadow shapes are overall pretty decent, so if you can get a handle on your values you may be surprised how good it looks. Also I'm not sure of the etiquette of critiquing other students' work, so I hope this is not unwelcome.
