Hi! My name is Pasi and I'm looking for C&C / general feedback of my work. These are just for personal use and I'm looking for to make a transition to illustrator/2d art freelancing jobs for the next year. Currently working in graphic design. - Feel free to C&C /to comment on anything - is there something, that pops out in my drawings? - do you see something (like a fundamental skill) that would really boost my art, if I learned more about? (If so, maybe you can recommend a online tutorial/education) - my style varies, do you see this as a problem? Should I be concentrating more in one style or way of drawing? I'm looking forward to dive in to this Proko community, because I know that one BIG thing what I'm really missing is network/art friends/community! I'm really alone in the north :D ps. I have been drawing more seriously about 10 years for my personal joy. I do like animation/Disney/Ghibli/books/scifi/fantasy/Tolkien/Witcher/ etc. and because I'm a father of to boys, I also like to draw children's stuff. Thanks, Pasi

Hey Pasi! I love your style, and you have a talent for story telling. Your composition and design skills are really strong. Something I might add is that a bunch of your images feel very flat. The Troll, Lord of the Rings image for example feels like they could be sitting directly over them, or 20 feet away. Something that might help is adding some more atmospheric perspective to your images. I think this would separate the images in to entirely separate "parts" which would put focus onto the parts of the picture you want to have focus. I've included images from Sparth and Tyler Jacobson to demonstrate what I'm talking about. The images are very simple, but they really do a great job telling a story and moving the eye to the focal points. Your fundamentals of draftsmen-ship are really solid. I would highly recommend looking more into studying some composition stuff. In terms of using this for a portfolio, I think it could help or hinder you depending on the path you'd like to go down. In terms of getting jobs, a more general portfolio can be good because people can trust your wide range of styles. It can hurt because it will be harder to develop your own specific voice. It can also be more fun because you're not pigeonholed into a single style, so you get a wider variety. Having a more focused portfolio limits certain jobs, but can also allow you to become a lot better at one specific thing and develop a more specific voice. You can go from getting jobs doing everything, to getting specific jobs on big things doing something very well. Welcome to the Proko art community! I really do like your art, and I'm looking forward to what you do!

Thank you so much Kristian! Atmospheric perspective makes perfect sense, I will pinpoint this in my future work. This portfolio case has been a tuff one for me, because I have not had a specific goal to go towards and I really need to about this and what I want to do in the future. I will I heed your advice about composition and the atmospheric perspective. Thank you for your help, this means a lot for me!

Nice use of color in your work and the camera angles. I like some of the designs as well. The 3rd image with the stairs, the perspective of the frames is a little weird but combined with the colors and the camera angle it sets a particular eerie mood.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, that stair image was kind of experiment. I wanted to forget the rules of perspective and force the eye down on the stairs. I tried kind of normal or realistic perspective on those frames, but it took a lot of power away from the mood I was seeking. Thanks again.
