Patrik Nordlund
Hi everyone! I'm Patrik from Sweden and am really excited to see the new Proko website up! I drew a lot 2016-2019 or something, but life got in the way and I kind of tuned out. And now I'm not sure how I'm going to get back into it. I'm still a tutorial junkie - I still watch tutorials and take mental notes but since I don't act on the anymore and get something down on paper, it won't do me any good anyway. Sinix, Ahmed Aldoori and others have been an great inspiration. Also I listen to Stans and Marshalls podcasts, and while they get me eager to start again, they also confirm that I am in some kind of mental limbo where I can't bring myself to draw. I even bought the book War of Art which was meant to give myself a kick in the butt and get going, but it hasn't worked yet. Sorry for the sad story :) I'm just still searching for the proper motivation. So why should I draw then? Why not just drop it and save me the agony? Because. While I was doing it, I loved it! I swear, it created new neuron connections in my brain! So, I would love to get back into it. Anyway, enough of that. Here are some of my drawings from a while back so you get an idea of what I've been doing. Mostly portraits but I don't know where I'd like to go from there (probably figure drawing but IDK) Thanks for reading, cheers //Patrik

Hi @Patrik Nordlund ! Your work looks great! Being in that mental limbo can be really rough, I have struggled with that quite a few times. Your comment about lacking the motivation but loving the process when you were motivated is really close to my own experiences. For getting out of it I would suggest putting effort towards drawing along with the tutorials you watch, even if you hate what you end up drawing, it is still going to help you get over that mental block and may ignite the fire again. Hope that helps!

Hi Robin, thanks a lot!

Nice work, @Patrik Nordlund! I think all artists go through similar issues at times. I have. If you like drawing that much you need to stick with it. Change what you draw for a while. Go outside and draw landscapes or people. Draw animals. Just draw something new to get you back into it! Hang in there... you have great work!

Thank you James, I really appreciate it!
