If you think you'll probably want to build a mold out of a water or oil based clay sculpture to cast it later, does this decision add some restrictions to the possible compositions and postures that you should be considering before you start your sculpture (like "don't sculpt a professional contortionist if you want to be able to make a mold for it")? Same question for if you are planning to hollow out and fire a water based sculpture. And on that subject, do you plan on adding a bonus video with tips and techniques for making molds and/or hollowing out sculptures on your series?

Just out of pure curiosity, (not that I have an overly ambitious project in mind... yet...) you mentioned that by using thicker wire we could use this method to build armatures for sculptures as large as half life size... Does going larger than that (say, life size) require a completely different method of building an armature?

If you were doing a life size sculpture then yes you’d probably want to use a different system. Though I have known sculptors who use a wire armature and then just wrap a ton of wire around the larger figure to build it out, then they used water based clay to sculpt. With such a large sculpture as life size you need a heavy duty support that can handle the weight of whatever type of clay you are using. I haven’t worked on life size projects yet but I do have a life size sculpture that I’m hoping to start soon.
