With the penguin and, especially, the girl, I did not leave myself enough room on the page, but otherwise I think they went okay. I had a much harder time with the hand, with both getting the proportions and getting myself to sketch it as directed rather than drawing it more carefully.

Nice work, the hand especially looks great! Keep it up!

Attempts at the skull and the camel, plus a few small sketches I tried using the same principles. The camel is the drawing I did after watching the demo (but without copying it). I really struggled beforehand and the demo really helped, especially with simplifying the gesture of the legs.

Good use of CSI lines! I think something that could help your line quality is starting out with a lighter line, and after you find the correct line, going over it in a darker weight. It's good to have a sketchy looseness, but I think adding a line weight difference will help bring more clarity to the drawing. It can also help to "ghost" lines, so going just above the paper with your pencil in the same motion as your intended line before actually putting pencil down to paper, as this will help you get a feeling for the movement.

Here's my attempt at the portrait. Kept working on it too long and lost the simplification, I think.
You did great with all these drawings. My feedback would be (for the second page) to think about how the features of the face sit on the face. I think the face reads a little flat and that may be the shading but, to me it feels like the form of the head and features could have been more of a focus during the drawing. Only other thing would be to put less detail in the neck, it ages the individual and all draws the eye away from the face. Still, doing a rendered portrait in 30 minutes is not easy work and you should be really happy about how far you went in the time limit. Great job again, hope this helps.

20 minutes. Tried to focus on structure and lay-in, rather than detail. Any feedback welcome. Thanks. And thanks for the timer tool, Proko!
Really nice job. My advice would be to focus more on your line quality, it can be the difference between an unpolished drawing and a polished one. Also having good line quality means you’ll have greater control over your edges witch can really make or break a piece. You did a really good job on the layin though and the proportions and likeness were captured beautifully. Great job and happy holidays.

Tried a couple different approaches, but struggled getting proportions and didn't have time to clean these up at all. Any feedback is welcome.
Yo those are pretty good! I like how you try to think about form, and The proportions are not that far off actually, especially the middle one looks graet! Just keep practicing and those proportions will come off naturally in time😁

My final attempt at my pear, after watching the critique. I think I did a better job of simplifying, but I think I may have lost some of the sense of form. Any feedback is appreciated.
