To improve your line, you have to do two things: Make sure you are using the side of a charcoal stick on a smooth newsprint pad- and draw sweeping lines using an overhand grip and drawing with the whole arm from the shoulder.
Think gesture not detail or anatomy.

Thanks for the feedback Steve, I took your advice, did some extra studying and applied it to my latest session! These are in order from 90 second poses to 8 minute poses.
I've never drawn at an easel before, so that was new, and having a live model that wasn't overly muscular was also a new challenge!
Hey y’all,
I just attended my first live model session last night, I wasn’t able to attend til the 7-10 minute poses.
These are on 18x24 with charcoal (never used before). And I want to improve my line and gestures!
