Here is a breakdown of how concept artists and game designers can use 3D tools when working out ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjakOuNer78 I just happened to watch this today and thought it fit well with this latest lesson.

Thanks for that!

Thank you thank you thank you! This video is like hearing that the worries playing in my head about how to use 3d programs and stigmas really were all just floating thoughts instead of tangible, truly dangerous paths with absolute decisions already made for me. It's freeing to see how these artists take what they learn and add onto their skillset over time. It's a simple concept but feels like an impossible mountain to climb sometimes. I really appreciate these videos showing what's real and possible. Thank you

Thank you @aegiey. That's what I hoped it would do. Good to know it's doing that for you!

I animate 2d and 3d and I like exploring hybrid options where I combine 3d for planning and tweening complex stuff and then use it as an aid for the 2d animation. But it goes both ways. Many animators I know improve their 3d animations, by doing scribbeling over their keyposes to optimize silhouettes and readability. It just makes sense to use the advantages of every tool available.

I'll have to get "it serves the viewer" tattooed on my arm or something, because I have a habit of mistaking the forest for the trees! I somehow never realized drawing over 3D models was a thing i could do. My drawing program's 3D suite suddenly makes sense!

I aim to tame perspective and break the rules so its very delightful to see Israel Sanchez playfully abuse his mastery of the subject into such lengths! Great lesson!

While I prefer "walking" my way to a spatial solution, I'm also intrigued by the interstellar travel of 3D programs. This is so encouraging to see there are multiple ways to problem-solve depending on the situation!

I mainly work in 3d, but try to draw rough sketches and ortho views as best I can, but I don't have enough perspective training yet to make my Orthos accurate. I'm looking forward to the upcoming lessons & freehanding drawn orthos! Loving all the lessons so far too!

Thank you Spookii Moon!
