Hello! I’ve been practicing finding the Horizon Line and Vanishing Points on photo references, but I have no idea if they are correct! Any feedback, tips, or any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Asked for help
After completing Proko’s project on simplifying, I’ve been focused on mastering it before moving on, which has been difficult. I can see the light and shadows in the references, however, I struggle to simplify shapes. Any feedback and/or tips are greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I'm definitely not the expert here, but one thing I did that I felt helped me was taking my pencil or any straight edge and just laying it over the area I was about to draw so I could "see" the straight line. Then I would move the pencil to see how "far" I could take the straight line before it stretched reality too much. I would agree these are nicely done.

I would simplify your reflected light in shadow more, and maybe the shadows too. For example the apple, you could continue the shadow line to the top, and then show a bit of the halftone if you want. Overall these are nice. Maybe pay more attention to the lightsourced direction, and not rely so much on the perveived lighness of local color/spots. Im no expert so take this with a grain of salt.

Thank you! I’ve been studying perspective through various amount of YouTube videos, mainly by Dan Beardshaw and Drawish Studio. I’ve also purchased the book “Perspective Made Easy” by Ernest R. Norling and “How to Draw” by Scott Roberson. I’m open to any other resource suggestions, thank you!
