It’s still a challenge for me to lay down light lines (whether digital or paper) so I end up erasing a lot - I feel like I’m progressing a little though - at least mentally if not with my actual drawing :)

This is a wonderful start! And this is the perfect place to learn for a beginner.
Nice work keeping it simple. All I can say is to keep practicing!
