Having a hard time with consistency practicing every day, but doing my best. I am practicing CSI, and animals seem to help me avoid the "I don't know what to draw" issue. At some point I'll turn to inorganics for practicing more straight lines and structure

I saw the demo of the pear by mistake before doing the assignment so I challenged myself with something new (but similar)

Looking good! It may help you to think of the gourd as if it was a low-poly 3d model. The simplified planes are a good reference for you to place your values. After primary values are in place, then you can go in and work on the secondary and tertiary details, such as the superficial grooves on the skin of the gourd. Hope this helps :)

Beginner level, I finally decided to post the results! I did the level 1 images. I feel the snail was overall decent but not confident lines, the boots I gave up on the laces as I though they were a joke for level 1 (should've persevered). I then tried the camel and it's actually the one I like the most. Then I decided to find one reference not given in the assignment and did the turtle, which I also like. I use a red pencil to very lightly draw quick and big contours/lines/shapes to check on overall proportions and feeling, and then 2H for the actual lines. Some of the drawings I then outline with 2B for darker and stronger lines (I think I'm cheating to feel them more bold/secure than what they really are). Cheers!

Really nice simplification! I think you nailed it. Your lines are a bit hairy throughout your drawings, meaning that you drew over the same line multiple times. Challenge yourself to start very lightly with your pencil and aim for long and loose strokes. Its okay search for the right line, making sure that you keep your stokes light until you're ready to darken the right one.
