my attempt at the LV 2 drawings, still need work on more confident lines and the proportions are a bit all over the place.
Melanie Scearce
You're pretty close with the proportions. I think these look lovely and you did a good job simplifying. Keep up the good work!

Here are my attempts at the level 1 line drawings. My lines are still quite messy and I struggled to keep my lines smooth and deliberate, found myself doing messy short scratchy lines in places, any feedback is welcomed :)

Nice, I think the simplification looks pretty good! When it comes to line confidence, ghosting can give you the momentum that you need. Try pinpointing (or you could even make a small mark with your pencil) where your start and end point will be for the line. Then you can practice the motion with your pencil just slightly above the paper, moving your hand across the page just like the line you envisioned. After you feel more confidence in this motion, you can set down your pencil to the page and create the true mark. It's still okay to make multiple marks for the same line, as long as try your best to complete each attempt from the beginning of the CSI line to the end (instead of breaking it up into small pieces). Even if it's wrong, that's okay! For a cleaner look, you can try making your first marks very lightly, and once you find the correct placement, you can finish it with a dark line. Hope this helps! :)

Had another go at the level 2 exercise while watching the demonstration, I think this is an improvement on the first one I did, any feedback appreciated. 😀

I like the shapes you've got here! It might be a product of the photo but it looks like the midtone that pops on the shadow side is the same value as your whitest highlight. That makes it really stick out in a way that steals the feeling of a wrapping form and flattens that side of the face. Strong shape simplification and GREAT eye on that light side!

Hi, I had a go at the level 2 exercise, I used an image of Pinterest so I didn’t just copy the way the example given was done. Any feedback is welcomed and I will re draw it whilst watching the demo video to see if I can improve on what I did 😀

I redrew the apple I did after watching the demonstration video, I think it looks better than the first although I think I would have been better with an image that had a better light and shadow contrast. Any feedback is welcomed 😀

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback 😀

Here is my attempt at the first level one project, decided to find a different fruit picture than the one in the video so I wasn’t tempted to just copy the video. Proportions aren’t quite right on mine and I think there needs to be better distinction between the values. Any feedback is welcomed :)

Bravo, the result is very beautiful. You have almost no curved lines C or S (contrary to the instructions), but it gives a very unique look to the subject that I like very much.
